Dr Maria Saria is a specialist general and laparoscopic surgeon at Zulekha Hospital and has been working in the UAE since 2017. She is skilled in all general surgery procedures including open and laparoscopic surgery. Procedures carried out by Dr Saria include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and conventional and laser surgery for haemorrhoids, anal fissure, fistula and pilonidal sinus. She also diagnoses and manages both benign and malignant breast diseases and performs breast biopsies, lumpectomy, mastectomy, and breast conservative surgery. Other expertise includes excision of skin and subcutaneous lipoma, cysts incision and drainage of abscess, ingrowing toenail, and other minor surgeries.

Dr Saria gained her medical qualifications from Ayub Medical College in 1992 and completed a four-year residency programme in surgery and allied from Civil Hospital Karachi. She gained fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2002.She also attained Fellowship in minimal access surgery (FMAS)from World Laparoscopic Hospital , Dubai She has previously worked as a professor of surgery and general surgeon at Hamdard University Hospital Karachi in Pakistan. She later became a specialist general surgeon at Medcare Women and Children's Hospital in Dubai before joining Emirates Healthcare Group.

Dr Saria is a member of the Society of Surgeons Pakistan and Pakistan Medical Association.
