Every day, the hospital sees 336 people in their emergency department, 1,913 people in specialist outpatient clinics, and 40 people during surgery.

The health service supports a population of almost 250 000 people and is also home to Townsville University Hospital, which supports a referral catchment of almost 700 000 people.
