Dr. Waleed Fawzi is a highly experienced consultant old age psychiatrist who has dedicated over two decades to working with older adults with complex mental and physical health needs. He specialises in treating conditions such as Alzheimer's Disease and is skilled in managing complex medication regimens, including the reduction of polypharmacy where appropriate. 

He graduated with honours from Cairo University in 1995 and received a UN scholarship to earn a diploma in Geriatrics and Gerontology at the International Institute on Ageing (Dip Ger) in 1998, with Magna Cum Laude honours. Dr. Fawzi pursued his psychiatric training at the Behman Hospital and Cairo University in Egypt. During this time, he also completed an MSc degree in psychiatry and neurology.

In 2003, he relocated to London to continue his psychiatry training at the Maudsley Hospital - Institute of Psychiatry. He became a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2006 (MRCPsych).

Dr. Fawzi conducted research on antidepressants, earning a Medical Doctorate (MD) in 2009. His research was jointly supervised by Cairo University and the University of Liverpool. He completed his specialist training in old age psychiatry in 2010.

Dr. Fawzi began his consultant career in City and Hackney within the East London NHS Foundation Trust. He is also recognised as an expert witness and has provided expert witness reports for various civil and criminal proceedings, including cases related to fitness to plead, contentious probate, contested trusts, medical negligence, and family matters. Dr. Fawzi has been involved in high-profile cases. He has presented oral evidence in court, including the Court of Appeal.
