Mr. Mike Lemon is a knee and hip specialist with extensive experience treating the complete range of knee injuries through to early and advanced knee, and hip, arthritis. He has a particular interest in tissue and bone preserving treatments to enable natural joint function and performs complex sports injury minsical repairs, tendon preserving anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) techniques, partial joint replacement/resurfacing, and fully bespoke computer aided design joint replacements.
Dr Lemon studied medicine at Oxford University and his surgical training started in Guy's and St. Thomas' hospitals, followed by an invaluable post in a major trauma centre in Cape Town, South Africa. Specialist training continued on the South West London rotation, followed by two UK specialist knee and hip surgery fellowships where he was able to develop his skills, working with internationally renowned specialists, in uni-compartmental, total/revision knee replacement, and sports knee surgery.
Mike then spent a year at South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), one of the busiest knee and hip centres in Europe, learning advanced hip replacement techniques including multiple surgical training visits to Paris.

Mr Lemon was a very nice, approachable person who I felt had plenty of time for me. He explained my procedure and came to see me on the ward, before and after my operation, which was much appreciated.

The initial consultation and post op meeting was friendly, informative and provided complete information including risks, benefits and complications that might be encountered. The hip replacement surgery and post op recovery has gone extremely well and no complications have been experienced. Thank you!

Mr Lemon did a partial knee replacement for me 10 years ago. It is still going strong and I play tennis on it twice a week. Now he is onto the case re the other knee.

Prior to the operation I was given clear information on the problem with my hip, exactly what a hip replacement would entail, the inherent risks, and the likely outcome in terms of restored functionality. As a result, I felt assured that I would be in good hands with an excellent chance of a good recovery. The operation itself has been very successful. After six weeks I have healed well, am completely pain-free and have recovered mobility and strength quickly so that I am starting to resume my previous life-style which is very active for someone in their mid-70s. The aftercare and physiotherapy I received following the operation played an important role in achieving this result.

Mr Lemon was a very nice and kind consultant. He explained everything very thoroughly and made me feel at ease immediately. He didn’t suggest an operation right away but to take gentle exercise eg. Swimming and low impact exercises. I felt very reassured seeing him and he explained that if it was still painful in a few months to have a steroid injection. I was recommended to Mr Lemon by a friend and was very pleased with his recommendation.

Very pleased with the results of my partial knee replacement. Mr Lemon was very good at explaining my options and recommending the best course of action. My knee is completely pain free and has an excellent range of movement.
