I had the unenviable task of choosing a consultant from a list from BUPA healthcare. This happened due to an unfavourable prostate exam after my annual heath check. Straight away I was drawn to Mr Shaw. How lucky can you get, everyone deserves a little luck in their lives !! My first point of contact was Mr Shaw's PA Cherelle, I knew then that I had made the right choice I was put at my ease very quickly with genuine caring attitude and the comment that I was in very good hands with Mr Shaw. How right she is, I felt confident with my first consultation, whether the outcome was grim or not Greg stressed that there was always a solution. I had my MRI unfortunately the results were a bit inconclusive so Biopsy was scheduled by Greg. Not the outcome I was hoping for as I had cancer in my prostate. Even though for me it was devastating, Greg remained very positive. I then had consultation with Greg along with my wife who was devastated with the news but left consultation with a positive attitude due to Greg and Cherelle, with whom she had a chat with woman to woman which I am forever grateful for as it eased her mind and her concerns were addressed and made my wife a lot happier. I had a consultation with Professor Heather Payne who also recommended that I should stick with Greg, which I did. I had my Robotic Prostatectomy on 15th September, Today I have had my Catheter removed and feel 100 per cent better. I have nothing but praise for all at the Prostate centre, but particularly with Mr Greg Shaw and Cherelle. Greg for his outstanding surgical skills and can do attitude and brilliant bedside manner, and Cherelle for her constant support and genuine care. I am sure all the patients get the same treatment which is comforting. Finally, how can you really put into words how humble and grateful I feel that Greg has extended my life and hopefully may have cured me.....

I have been in the care of Mr Shaw from initial consultation through Biopsy and finally a date for operation. I can honestly say I feel very lucky, his compassion and caring attitude along with explanation of every step of my treatment and very positive demeanour has made the whole process a lot less daunting.

Frankly we lucky to have a surgeon of this quality and outstanding professionalism He is in one word superb
