Explanation

I had a pleasure working with Dr Olga Konstantinidou for almost a year and it was an incredible journey. Since the first session I was made welcome and felt like sessions with her are the safe place for me to share my pain and troubles. She helped me immensely to overcome my challenges, guiding me through the process and teaching me new techniques. Given this was my first therapy experience, I couldn't have wished for a better person to take me on that journey. Thank you

Explanation

I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2022, during a period where much of my life was unmanageable. My personal relationships were frayed, my work was increasingly difficult to cope with, my emotions frequently ruled my decision making, and my anxiety was driving unhealthy behaviours that left me depressed and lost. Having struggled through another year of ADHD symptoms ruling and ruining my life, I began working with Olga in September 2023. In just 2 months my life is completely unrecognisable from the pain and anxiety that had become my status quo, and I continue to make progress through ongoing weekly sessions that are a highlight of my week. Olga has helped me to understand my ADHD, and beyond that to understand how to approach ingrained emotional responses in a stressful world with magnanimity and calm; encouraging me to pause without judgement to observe my feelings, challenge my thinking, and grow into a happy adult man. She operates with convivial and measured communication to help me explore my emotions and their roots -framing our discussions with solutions that allow me to pause, reflect, understand, and act in ways that ensure I can cope effectively with anger, resentment, anxiety stress, fear -as well as happiness, exhilaration, playfulness and enthusiasm. As part of this approach I have been significantly better at distinguishing between valid and reasonable emotional responses, and those which need to be challenged. By approaching my areas of difficulty in a methodical and calm manner -one that fosters trust and judgement-free exploration -Olga has helped me think differently when my thoughts attack me, or drive psychosomatic outcomes that leave me despondent physically and emotionally. She listens without judgement, advises how modes and needs can be channelled in ways that I had not considered, and underpins my understanding of ADHD empathically with invaluable reference to valid research in areas that improve my sense of self. I have a passivity in periods of self-reflection that are charactersied by patient observation -encouraging time to breath in my otherwise critical or catastrophising observations of self and beyond. My outlook on life has become so much more positive; my habitual and destructive impulsivity and grandiosity have been squarely lodged as modes of behaviour rooted in schemas established in early childhood, and emotions that can be challenged or channelled to derive positive growth. Unpicking these modes, and providing strategies to ease their negative impact, has been invaluable in ensuring I view myself without a sense of immutable and unidirectional progress towards discontented restlessness. I have worked with therapists before with limited success. In the past I had only a notional sense that I was being heard and understood. My happiness is down to a lot of hard work on my part, and that is something that all people heading into therapy need to understand; it is not easy to make significant changes to how one thinks and acts -particularly given the complexities of long-term soothing strategies is as ingrained as it has been for me. In order to make progress in the right direction, it is essential to have somebody you are comfortable being honest with, and who can guide you towards changes over time. Olga has certainly been that guide for me.

I really want to express my deep gratitude to Olga, my incredible psychologist. She's been an absolute rock during a seriously tough period for me. Olga's professionalism is seriously impressive – she really knows her stuff and has this amazing ability to break things down. When things felt overwhelming, her insights and advice were like a guiding light. But what's been truly special about Olga is how much she cares. Talking to her felt like talking to someone who genuinely understood, without any judgment. Her advice during those tough moments was like a roadmap that got me through. And those skills she taught me, they've been a game-changer. They weren't just quick fixes; they were tools that helped me get through the biggest crisis of my life and come out stronger on the other side. Olga, you've made a huge difference, and I'm so grateful to have had you by my side. For anyone looking for a fantastic psychologist, I can't recommend Olga enough.

I have thoroughly benefited from meeting and spending time with Olga over the last few months. My motivation for seeking to talk to someone was anxiety at work, with relationships and struggling to feel in control of aspects of my life. Olga is incredibly intuitive and observant and as well as getting to the heart of where my anxiety stems from, she has an amazing ability to know when to push and when to support. Wherever you're coming from, I would highly recommend Olga as someone who will provide you with tools, support and objective advice you need to manage your circumstance (and yourself). Thank you Olga.

Explanation

I felt lost and empty. I struggled to find positives in life and had no idea what to do about it. Within our first session, I felt like Olga ‘got me’. Each session was hugely helpful. I’m not sure what I would have done without them. It helped me find a purpose and understand why I felt like I did and why I thought in the way I did. We had weekly sessions, initially focused on discovery and understanding of my circumstances and Schema therapy. Following these, we worked through practical examples both historic and current to grow self-understanding and awareness. We discussed options, opportunities and practical plans to work towards a more positive outlook. You don’t feel like your ‘another patient’. Olga is invested in understanding your circumstance and helping you, with both insights to consider and practical advice you can immediately start doing. The bottom line is that I felt lost and empty and now I feel positively different. That simply wouldn’t have been possible without Olga.
