About

Mr Mohammed Abdus-Samee is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in London, UK. Following completion of his medical degree where he graduated with Honours from Imperial College, London he undertook surgical training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, UK. His higher surgical training was completed on the South-East Thames Rotation before going onto complete fellowship training in Sports & Arthroscopic Surgery in Stoke on Trent. He later completed further fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery in Bristol (Avon Orthopaedic Centre).

He has a specialist interest in Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgery. Mr Abdus-Samee is highly skilled in open and keyhole (arthroscopic) surgery of the shoulder with a particular interest in reconstruction (rotator cuff repairs, SLAP repairs and gleno-humeral and acromioclavicular stabilisations) and the whole spectrum of shoulder decompressions/debridements (subacromial decompressions) and surgery to the ACJ (acromioclavicular joint). His results allow patients to return to full activity and sports and his patients achieve full elevation and movements with anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacements. He treats elite athletes, non-athletes, dedicated office workers, young and old with good results and is a favourite amongst staff who have upper limb problems and want someone reliable to go to. That reliability means a truly patient orientated approach with what is best for you - treating you as if he was treating himself meaning careful diagnosis and treatment which may be non-surgical or surgical depending on individual need.

Mr Mohammed Abdus-Samee was very clear and efficient in organizing the required diagnostics and then reporting back and recommending a course of treatment. He was personable and empathetic and gave a balanced explanation of the inherent risk/benefit of the treatment program. I went ahead with what he recommended and have been diligent in executing the subsequent physiotherapy regime which has been guided by insightful diagnostics. Two and a half months on I have significantly more mobility in the joint and I am almost pain free. I therefore feel appreciative of the skills of this Consultant.

Mr Mohammed Abdus-Samee

Thank you very much indeed for such a detailed review. Hopefully the symptoms you have had will soon be a distant memory. I wish you all the best.

Good manner, reassuring, takes time to explain things, flexible re dates (to fit in with my own timescales) and - most importantly - I now feel far better than I did pre-op. Very pleased indeed with my choice of surgeon.

Mr Abdus-Samee identified the problem (a broken socket bone) and following a CT scan arranged for open surgery the next week. The operation was extremely successful and with physio I am well on the way to a full recovery. There is very little scarring and further x-rays show the bone to be healing nicely. Mr Abdus-Samee was very patient and clear in his explanations and my options.

Despite mine being a request at short notice, DrAbdus Samee offered an ASAP appointment, took much time in taking history and do a complete assessment and provide a comprehensive report of the same. My family was thoroughly satisfied with his bedside manners, clinical expertise and overall experience of the consultation.

Mr Mohammed Abdus-Samee

Thank you very much for such a wonderful review. I am glad to have been of some help.
