I always felt complete confidence in Mr Wearne having had two cataracts removed over a period of two years. His gentle and caring manner removed all anxiety and the operation itself was relaxing and totally pain free. I could not have wished for a better eye surgeon.

Mr Wearne was recommended to me by a friend. My 1st Assessment appointment was very through, he explained what I Needed which was to remove the Cateract in my left eye, as I have Fuch's dystrophy Mr Wearne did the Operation himself, he talked to me while operating. 2 days after the operation I was amazed how clear my vision was. The next day Mr Wearne phoned me to see if everything was O.K. On my follow up appointment Mr Wearne re-examined my eyes, the result was my vision is very good. Mr Wearne removed cataracts from both eyes for me and my wife Dorothy. The results have been very good for both of us with glasses now required only for reading quite small print and the requirement for driving well surpassed. The ops were painless and performed very quickly with a swift recovery to normal activity.

Mr Wearne is very thorough and took his time to explain matters relating to my cataract operations. Being very short sighted the outcomes of both operations have been life changing for me as my vision in both eyes is now 20/20. I simply cannot recommend Mr Wearne highly enough.

Mr Wearne was low key and very professional. He explained why the procedure -cataract replacement - was necessary and how it would be done. He went through the various options with me and did not press for the most expensive and was flexible in his approach. He also remembered details and conversations from one consultation to the next. He did not profess miracles but was reassuring and emphasised his very high success rate. He clearly had a very good relationship with the theatre staff remained very calm throughout even when a machine was temporarily not operating as he needed. (Nothing to do with him or his team). All staff spoke very highly of him. Mr Wearne followed up the operation with a telephone call the following day which was very reassuring and plenty of follow-up support and consultation if needed. I would thoroughly recommend. Such a shame that the NHS waiting list is so long and that people have to pay for this very successful procedure.

Mr Wearne has an excellent (down-to-earth) manner. He was very direct in his explanations and comments and was very happy to respond to the questions I had. My cataract surgery was completed very successfully and without fuss. I was reassured all the way through. I experienced no pain either during or after surgery and the outcome has been excellent. Unable to see hardly anything with my right eye due to cataract, after surgery by Mr Wearne, I now have 20/20 vision in my right eye.
