Mr Kartik Hariharan is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with over 25 years of experience in the field. Mr Haraiharan specialises in pathological ankle and foot problems, including arthritis, big toe issues, complex deformities, foot and ankle fractures, sports injuries and keyhole surgery. He is based at St Josephs Hospital, Newport where he sees private patients
Kartik gained his primary medical qualification at the Madras Medical College, which he subsequently followed up with his orthopaedic training in Wales. After his orthopaedic training was completrf, he visited various states in the USA for a fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery. He was appointed Consultant in 1994 at the Royal Gwent Hospital, where he has since establish a high standard of practice, operating on a variety of patients, including footballers and professional dancers. He is also a national teacher for the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and was a past president of the Society.
