About

Mr Evans qualified in 1975 in Cardiff and then underwent further training in Liverpool and Edinburgh. He was appointed to the Academic Orthopaedic Unit, Southampton, as a Lecturer in 1984 with a major interest in external fixation of tibial fractures. He worked as an NHS Consultant from 1990 at:

  • St Mary's Hospital, Isle of Wight
  • The Regional Orthopaedic Unit, Lord Mayor Treloar Hospital, Alton
  • University Hospital Southampton (Honorary Consultant)
  • Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth
  • Royal Hospital Haslar, Gosport

In 2004, Mr Evans became a Director of London Knee Clinic at London Bridge Hospital having decided to concentrate solely on the investigation and treatment of knee disorders. Since then he has performed many knee operations including ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) reconstructions, knee replacements, arthroscopies and correction of bony deformities (osteotomies).

Mr Evans treats young adults with sports-related knee injuries and older patients with early wear and tear, or established knee arthritis. He has been performing knee arthroscopies and knee replacements since 1985. During his first decade as a consultant, he did several thousand joint replacements including hips and knees, and developed an early interest in partial knee replacements which he continues to undertake.
