Mr Javed Uddin is an Ear, Nose and Throat Consultant with extensive experience and expertise in the whole range of Ear, Nose and Throat conditions. He has a desire for innovation and surgical advancement and has developed a super-specialist practice in endoscopic (keyhole) surgery for ear, nose and throat disorders. He also offers specialist clinics for nasal and sinus problems, children's disorders and has a keen clinical interest in thyroid disease and head and neck cancer, and has set up a dedicated neck lump clinic to study his interest further.
Dr Uddin's specialist care and knowledge, along with his detailed diagnostic skills, have enabled him to become East Midland's foremost ENT surgeon and specialist. With his dedication to delivering quality care for patients in a friendly and personable manner, whilst training the next generation of doctors and surgeons, he is at the forefront of his field and is delivering top-quality care on a daily basis.
He was appointed to the post of ENT consultant at the University Hospitals of Leicester in 2012 and is the current head of the ENT service in Leicester.
Since completing his training in all aspects of ENT disease, Dr Uddin undertook a specialist fellowship training in advanced thyroid and head and neck disease and has worked in NHS university teaching hospitals for more than twenty years.
He has been awarded the prestigious Gold medal from the Royal Society of Medicine for his outstanding performance in the national final surgical exams, prior to his consultant appointment.
More recently, his current medical research is based on the growth of new blood vessels in tumours, as well as observational patterns in sinus disease and the link between the nose and the lungs.

I have had two operations with Mr Uddin and each time he was ultimately professional and very informative of the procedures I required. Each time he was very caring and was genuinely interested in my wellbeing. As result of the two operations my sinuses are now in superb operating order and I have a clear and concise care plan for the future. I can thoroughly recommend Mr Uddin to anyone referred to him and I’m sure you will have the same excellent experience I have.

Very friendly & polite. He diagnosed our daughter quickly and arranged a hearing test soon after. Then before the surgery explained again what he was doing so we were fully aware, and told us all the findings after. Very good, he has changed my daughter’s little life bless her. Something so simple but such a big impact.
