In a word - “Outstanding”. A very easy to get on with caring human being who instantly makes you feel comfortable. He was recommended by my local hospital in Chelmsford who diagnosed my prostate cancer and I am overjoyed that I chose him to operate on me. Declan is the only surgeon I have used who called me before the operation, visited me in hospital each day I was there and then calls me the first day I am at home. Then 2 weeks later contacts me again and organises an immediate call with an amazing post operative nurse who provides useful guidance on my urinary leak issues. He then asks for weekly updates so he can keep an eye on me to ensure my recovery is progressing as planned. I just wish all surgeons were as good.

Declan Cahill is a breath of fresh air when you find yourself facing a difficult decision choosing which treatment you need for Carcinoma of the Prostate. He is positive, clear, and concise exuding knowledge about the subject. All bases are covered quickly and efficiently with the help of his very experienced team at The London Bridge HCA clinic. You feel particularly well supported and reassured you are making the right decision. Preparation was meticulous with pelvic floor exercises. dietary advice, fluid management and pre-habilitation all presented on video so you can refer back to the instructions as often as you like. On the day the anaesthetic and surgery is a dream (literally) and recovery much more straightforward than you imagine it will be. Good luck with your operation, rest assured you could not be in better hands. Declan will follow your progress closely and keep in touch long after you have recovered, with positive thinking and further management of your condition if required. If complications occur he will jump straight on it without delay. I could not recommend him too highly.

My experience with Mr Declan Cahill was of such a high standard , I am unable to find any areas for me to suggest improvements. From the first moment I met him, I felt looked after in such a personal and warm way, making me feel like an individual , with respect and kindness. He kept me informed at every step, explaining to me about every aspect from my diagnosis , proposed treatment and aftercare; answering my questions, and giving me time to process the information. He supported me, and went the extra mile, even phoning me the evening before the operation. The operation went well, a testament to his high degree of operating skill. My aftercare was perfect and could not be faulted.

I was recommended to go to him by a friend on whom he had operated. I travelled a long way to see him but the outcome was well worth it. I would recommend him to anyone needing this type of surgery.

To put it mildly this was a difficult time for me. I will always remember when I was told I had prostate cancer.Declan is not only extremely good at what he does and extremely good at explaining what is happening but also doing it simply and giving you total confidence that you are in the best possible hands. He was always available whenever I needed.If anyone I know ended up unfortunately in the same position as me I would simply say go and see Declan.

Mr Cahill was very calm, assured, knowledgeable and patient which went a long way to relieving some of the anxieties of a very stressful diagnosis and treatment.
