I have had a consultation with Mr Jon McFarlane and follow-up diagnostic tests recently and on both occasions Mr McFarlane’s manner was extremely friendly and reassuring. Following the tests Mr McFarlane fully explained the results and I left the Clinic feeling relieved.

Every aspect of my experience with Mr McFarlane has been highly satisfactory, in particular: * his ability to communicate with me in easily understandable terms * his sensitive delivery of ,for me," bad news" * the clarity of treatment options provided and the attendant effects * the impact of his medical interventions * his almost immediate provision of written feedback to me and my GP following appointments/procedures

In my opinion Mr McFarlane handled my case in a very relaxed and professional manner. He answered all my questions and I felt in good hands throughout the operation.

Was extremely patient & understanding of my issues. Was both positive and clear in his recommendations of what the best course of action was and most important I have had a full recovery.

Most charming and reassuring person, who took my concerns seriously and kindly took a lot of trouble to ensure my worries were unfounded. Couldn’t have wished for a kinder specialist.

Mr McFarlane was very kind and put my mind at ease by explaining all I needed to know. The surgery and care was excellent and my recovery was as he said it would be.

My father was under the care of Jon for a suspected prostate cancer. From the initial appointment to the point of discharge we found Jon to be truly professional, sympathetic and above all patient. He talked at length in regards to what investigations my father would need and subsequently answered our multiple questions. My father felt he was able to think about the available choices before making any decisions of how he wanted to proceed. On the day of his biopsies, he again took the time to talk us through what to expect during and after the procedure. Thankfully the biopsies were negative, and my father now has all of his PSA tests with his GP but has a clear plan that if the PSA rises above a certain level he can be followed up by Jon.
