I chose Mr Aho because he was the highest rated consultant in the UK for the HoLEP surgery I was undergoing and it proved to be a wise choice. Clear explanations to my questions in plain English and the results have been everything I could wish for.

Mr Tev Aho explained the procedure before my surgery most clearly. The conversation we had after the operation answered any remaining questions to my complete satisfaction.

I first spoke to MrAho via a telephone consultation due to Covid and his heavy workload. At the time I was catheterised, and needed reassurance and a way of resolving the problems I was having with my enlarged prostate, for which I had been on medication for more than 10 years. The consultation was carried out in a friendly and professional way and left me reassured about my current situation and with a plan for a future HoLEP treatment to treat my enlarged prostate. The HOlep operation was successfully carried out with an overnight stay in hospital and I walked out of the hospital with no pain or discomfort and catheter free. A few days after the operation I unfortunately had a urine blockage and had to go to A & E and was catheterised. I think I was just unlucky, and not helped by being on anticoagulant medication. Once it was all sorted I healed very quickly and about a month later was leading a fully normal life including cycling over 30 miles at a time. I have just had my 3 month follow up appointment with Mr Aho and the results were excellent with a fantastic flow rate and virtually no residual urine in the bladder. I could not of hoped for more, and I am extremely pleased with my outcome. Even with my post operative problem, which was purely down to bad luck, I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone who requires a HoLEP procedure to contact Mr Aho, you could not be in better hands.

Mr Aho immediately made me feel at ease. He comprehensively explained what and how he would carry out the procedure. And explained the range of outcomes possible. At my subsequent 3 month post op appointment we discussed the results and he answered a few further questions I had. Mr Tev Aho, is a master of his profession and at the peak of his practice, I was very lucky to have had the privilege, to have him thoroughly explain to me what to expect before and after this procedure.in detail, I am very happy and fell very lucky to have been operated on by Mr Aho as his bed side manner is also second to nun. In a nut shell he is an asset to the medical profession and if only every consultant was as good, the world would be a better place for patients. Mr Aho's excellent reputation in the medical field precedes him and it is no exaggeration. I wish I had HoLEP procedure years ago. Tev Aho transformed my life; my quality of sleep has greatly improved as I do not need to visit the toilet seven times a night. I can’t thank him enough. I also experienced less pain and discomfort than a template biopsy.
