Mr Lamah then followed up over phone and scheduled me himself - I may have deferred for longer otherwise and was hugely grateful for his proactive intervention. I was given a full briefing of the procedure and likely recovery period in advance. The procedure itself was a success and Mr Lamah decided to break it into two steps to avoid further risk. Due to the nature of the procedure my recovery was painful and I needed to return to hospital twice in the following weeks to have a catheter fitted and to treat a UTI when it was removed (pretty common).
