My experience with Dr. Jonathan Hughes was overall very good - I had a couple of appointments with him before my operation and he explained everything well, including the risks. The operation itself went very well and I'm very happy with the results. There were no complications and recovery has been very smooth. Also from an aesthetic standpoint, I'm happy with how the wound has healed and the scar looks just a few weeks post-surgery.

Doctor and hospital were great. Service around it wasn't. I had to remind secretaries of things rather me being reminded.

Dr Hughes helped me with a very difficult neck and throat condition where no other consultants would. He responded to personal emails, spoke on the phone and fitted me in for appointments and tests promptly. He carried out excellent surgery at short notice at The London Clinic, and visited me twice after my operation, with a follow up appointment thereafter. His manner was always calm, logical and friendly, even in my more anxious moments! If you need to seek ENT support you cannot go wrong with Dr Hughes and his team.

I have seen Mr Hughes now as an ENT for about a year now and I couldn't be happier with the care I receive as Mr Hughes is so kind, patient, understanding and explains everything very throughly. I was diagnosed with graves disease in October 2020 and upon seeing Mr Hughes he informed me he was a thyroid surgeon so if I needed surgery I knew who would be doing it given I knew him well and completely trusted him. In February 2021 I knew I needed my thyroid removed and Mr Hughes explained everything to me very thoroughly, the date was set for the surgery, he ensured everything went well and in March 2021 I went into hospital to have my thyroid removed but given this wasn't my first operation I was a bit anxious but I saw Mr Hughes prior to going down to theatre, he went over everything again and the operation went extremely well. I saw Mr Hughes four days post op just for a check up which was truly wonderful given I was in a lot of pain and he reassured me that everything seemed to be healing nicely and I then saw him again 11 days post op to have the dressing removed an two stitches removed which was done with such care but I looked at the scar and I truly could not believe how neat, small and good it looked as I knew thyroid scars can be quite big yet it was small, there were no issues and I knew it would heal extremely well. I am on a graves disease support group which has been a godsend, I showed them the photo of the scar just eleven days post op and they were shocked as to how small, neat and how good it looked but I am now recovering extremely well from the surgery and I wouldn't of chosen anyone else to do my thyroidectomy as Mr Hughes is so wonderful. If you need a thyroidectomy I highly recommend Mr Hughes as he is a fantastic consultant, he's very friendly, kind, understanding, his bedside manner is wonderful and he truly looked after me throughout this process. Thank you so much Mr Hughes for doing my thyroid surgery but also creating such a neat incision which will leave a very small scar which in time will heal.

I have been dealing with difficult and confusing health problems related to my nose. I was recommended to see Mr Hughes by a family friend, as I was told he was an excellent ENT specialist. Upon seeing him he very quickly ordered several different examinations and tests. He quickly diagnosed that my main problem was allergy based rather than mechanical. No other doctors I had seen before him had figured this out, they just threw pills at me. Mr Hughes was helpful, professional and highly competent. He prescribed me medications, that although have not cured me (hard for allergies), have certainly helped my symptoms. I am happy to have been treated by him and would highly recommend him to family, friends or anyone who needs to see an ENT specialist.
