Explanation

When Mr Dyer confirmed my diagnosis of prostrate cancer he took the time to explain all the options for treatment. He explained that surgical removal would ensure the best possible outcome. After preliminary scans & tests the robotic surgery was carried out after several weeks. I returned home after 2 nights. My catheter was removed after a week. Gradually over the next month or so my life returned to normal,(with my wifes help) I had 3 monthly PSA tests for the 1st year & 6 monthly PSA tests from than on.After 2 years all the tests are negative. All the symptoms I had before treatment have gone. I feel less tired & my urinary continence is no longer a problem. I know my decision to proceed with Mr Dyers recommendations was 100% correct.

Explanation

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early June after I had insisted local clinic check my PSA. Reading of 18 followed by MRI and Biopsy and then referred to Mr. Jonathan Dyer. Mr. Dyer clearly outlined options for me and we decided to proceed with radical (nerve saving) prostatectomy and I elected to self fund op on 11th July rather than wait 2 months for NHS treatment. Staff at Spire were excellent - nurses, canteen assistants and particularly the theatre staff. Mr Dyer called my wife immediately after the (6 hour!) operation to let her know all was well. Post op care superb, Mr.Dyer has kept in touch to confirm recovery proceeding to plan and to let me know that PSA down to zero following a blood test early September. In short I have been very impressed with the treatment I received and would recommend The Spire, and particularly Mr. Dyer, without hesitation!
