Three months ago I had a triple by pass operation carried out by Mr Birdi and his team, I cannot praise enough the professional and efficient way that the entire procedure was handled. Everything that was going to happen was explained fully in laymans terms that I could understand. Though I experienced discomfort during my recovery I can honestly say that it was not painful. This I believe is a tribute to Mr Birdi and his team both during and after the procedure.

My 70 year old mum was diagnosed with severe mitral valve regurgitation and tricuspid valve regurgitation. We met Dr. Birdi to discuss treatment options. Dr. Birdi was amazing and explained everything in detail. He urgently got various tests done and within a couple of weeks of first meeting him operated on my mum and repaired her valves. My mum was home after a week of surgery and is recovering well. I was very impressed with how easy it was to keep in touch with Dr. Birdi. I had his mobile number and could call him at any time to discuss my mother's condition. Even post surgery I know he will respond if ever I want to discuss my mum with him. I had severe pains in my chest and within a few weeks had to have open-heart surgery. Inserting stents would not work, only a by-pass operation could cure my condition. I was in complete shock and scared. I was then introduced to Mr Birdi, who would be my surgeon. I could not have been in better hands. He put my wife and I at ease by explaining exactly what was happening to me, what surgical procedure I required, and how to improve my health and general well-being post-op. Mr Birdi is clearly a brilliant surgeon. Equally important from the patient's standpoint is that he has excellent people skills and keeps you informed every step of the way. My double heart bypass operation performed by Mr Birdi went like clockwork. For me this was a huge personal life threatening crisis but Mr Birdi gained my confidence from the outset, spoke with me a lot and turned my crisis into something I was able to manage, get through and then carry on with my life. I am indebted to him.

Mr. Birdi performed mitral valve repair, tricuspid valve repair and left atrial appendage closure on me during a 5 hour operation at Basildon hospital in May. The operation had been delayed by 7 days because I was not told in advance to stop taking anti-coagulant medication. Keyhole surgery was considered too risky in my case because 2 valves needed repair. Surgery was completely successful with no complications and very little pain or discomfort. Mr. Birdi and his team treated me with great respect and made me feel that I was getting special treatment. Totally professional and highly recommended.

I came to england year and half ago for my cardiology examination.
