I was very impressed with Mr Gurdeep Biring who treated my torn meniscus, increasingly as the weeks go by.At my age, 78 years, I did not really believe that my knee would be “ normal” again ( other people’s experiences told to me!!) but I am able to run, walk everything, as the other uninjured leg. I am not overweight and exercise regularly which may help but I put it all down to the excellent surgery.

All seemed to go as it should. Only minor discomfort following the op. Was able to return to normal daily activities very quickly. I am somewhat surprised though that after 8 months I still am awakened several times during the night from pain/discomfort in my hip. I was impressed by Mr Biring's demeanour and professionalism whenever we met.

Mr Biring gave me the confidence I needed to proceed with my operation which I needed but was very frightened of having done! He explained things in a way that I could clearly understand, pointed out the risks that might occur but reassured me in the light of my own position that "all would be well" and it was. I had a difficult couple of days following my operation and he immediately came and saw me and organised tests which showed what was needed to stop me feeling so poorly. Again it was his reassurance that the operation had been a complete success and that there was nothing major for me to worry about that calmed me down. I am a very nervous patient and backed out of a hip replacement 10 years earlier because of this. I am so pleased I went ahead as the new hip has enhanced my life already. I found it very easy to talk to Mr Biring and he has a very caring manner.

After my consultation with Mr Biring I was made to feel totally at ease. The thought of the operation is certainly far more daunting than the actual proceedure. I would thoroughly recommend Mr Biring to any one needing a hip replacement. I can only speak highly of the whole experience.

Mr Biring was very clear about my condition and what needed to be done. The operation went very well and his suggestions on recovery procedures was very helpful. I was walking in no time. Mr Biring is a excellent surgeon with good communication skills.

Mr Biring has a very reassuring and professional manner. A pleasant friendly man. He diagnosed my problem and did an excellent job on my hip. I hope he can do the other hip when the time comes.

Mr Biring and the whole team exuded confidence and professionalism. I followed the aftercare instructions to the letter and was walking without artificial aids after about 8 or 9 weeks. I still do some of the recovery exercises occasionally to try to keep in trim. The range of movement is still not quite 100% but I am pain free.
