In May 2022, I broke my elbow very badly in a cycling accident. Professor Jariwala was my consultant for the initial reconstruction operation. Unfortunately, my elbow dislocated in the week after that operation which required a second operation, which Professor Jariwala performed. Professor Jariwala fitted an external frame to my arm during this operation, which stayed on for 6 weeks. Professor Jariwala removed the frame at the end of June 2022, and I was in a cast for a week after which I was able to begin physiotherapy to increase mobility and strength. In January 2023, the metalwork in my joint was causing issues and had to be removed during an operation performed by Professor Jariwala. All of these operations have been performed excellently from my point of view, with a very good outcome achieved considering the severity of the injury. Throughout this period, I have had many consultations with Professor Jariwala during which he has been incredibly helpful and informative. He made sure that I understood the situation well and the reasons for the path he was taking. Furthermore, he has been unwaveringly encouraging for me to continue pushing to achieve a greater recovery. I am immensely grateful for all the support and care I received from Professor Jariwala.

This procedure has life changing effect on physical and mental health. Ensuring I am able to continue with my employment and also my hobbies. This surgery has been a complete success pain score prior to surgery was 8/10 on a good day now 5 weeks post surgery no pain and able to participate in hobbies such as paddleboarding. I now have full range of movement and cannot be happier with the results.
