Miss Vivian A. Elwell is a Consultant Neurosurgeon with a sub-speciality in Complex Spinal Surgery. She welcomes all clients suffering from common neurological problems such as back pain, neck pain, slipped or herniated disc, spinal decompression, carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica.
She began her undergraduate studies at Columbia College, Columbia University (NYC, USA) with a degree in Biological Sciences. She completed her medical degree at the University of Cambridge and Imperial College School of Medicine.
She completed her Neurosurgical training on the North Thames Neurosurgical London Rotation. She gained further specialist training in complex spinal surgery as a Central London Senior Spinal Fellow. In addition she was awarded the British Association of Spinal Surgeons President Travelling Fellowship and the International Group for Advancement in Spinal Science Fellowship (IGASS).
She is involved in medical education and an author of 5 medical textbooks, including Neurosurgery: The Essential Guide to the Oral and Clinica Neurosurgical Exam (2nd Edition)- 2023. She also participates in research, including: the field of head and spinal injury, spinal degenerative disease and spinal tumours. In 2023, she was appointed at an External Examiner for Imperial College School of Medicine (2023-2026).
