Dr Marc Serfaty is a highly experienced psychiatrist with over 20 years of experience in mental health. He is dedicated to helping patients with mental health problems and has a passion for psychiatry.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Serfaty is a Clinical Tutor for the UCL Medical School and has a diploma in teaching (FHEA). He is also the lead consultant for day therapy services at Priory Hospital North London. Dr Serfaty has a strong academic background, having achieved a merit-distinction in every exam taken during his BSc (Hons) in Medical Science at St Andrews University, Scotland. He then completed his clinical training (MBChB) at the University of Manchester.
Dr Serfaty completed his clinical training and a Masters of Philosophy degree in Psychiatry before being appointed as a Lecturer in Psychiatry. He completed a medical doctorate (MD) in 2006, in which he developed a specialist interest in the use of melatonin for sleep disorders in depression and dementia. His current research interests include the use of cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) in older people with depression, CBT for people with distress and cancer, CBT for the treatment of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), and CBT for eating disorders.
