Mr Mehat was very accessible for any questions and easy to speak to and the procedure went well. I possibly did not quite understand in our initial consultation how much that the reverse was going to occur with my vision in as much that distance would be clear whilst close would be blurred which I have found frustrating and reverted to mostly wearing glasses again. Mr Mehat did explain that I possibly would need readers. The post op information should be given to the patient before the procedure especially if they are having both cataracts done and live on their own so that they can be more prepared. For example sunglasses as eyes have become more sensitive, eye drops etc. Fortunately I had read a friend’s Vision Scotland information package but still was not as prepared as I could have been. Although this does not concern Mr Mehat there needs to be better communication between the insurance provider/hospital/surgeon to prevent over charging, medication not required and patient communication.

Mr Mehat was very friendly and made me feel extremely comfortable in what was initially a concerning situation for me. He fully explained all aspects of his diagnosis and proposed treatments and was more than happy to answer all my questions. During the surgical procedure he again explained everything and was very reassuring throughout.

From initial consultation to the day of my surgery, Manjit was wonderful. He answered my pre-surgery email questions swiftly allaying any fears I had. During surgery he was very professional but also caring & kind. Post surgery he saw me before I left the hospital & telephoned 2 days after surgery to check on my progress & recovery. I’ve no hesitation in recommending him to anyone considering surgery.

I could not have chosen a kinder and more relaxing surgeon than Mr Mehat He and his staff were fantastic and I can't thank them enough Mr Mehat has given me 20/20 vision which I can't thank him enough for.

Mr Mehat removed an epiretinal membrane from my left eye and replaced the lenses in both my eyes with EDOF lenses. Surgery on the two eyes was about two months apart and my resulting reading capability has a really good range (small scale and close up through to computer distance) and my distance is generally really good too. It's taken a few months for things to settle but the end results are good, with no glasses required! Mr Mehat is a pleasure to deal with. He is very personable and makes himself very available for informal consultations via phone, email, etc, as required, which is much appreciated. He also responded well to my many queries related to risk and options. It would have been nice to be warned about the gas bubble though! Overall, I'd definitely recommend Mr Mehat. I chose him because his professional reputation is very strong. This is supported by my optician who says Mr Mehat got the surgery and lenses 'spot on', and that my results are 'superb'!

I consider myself very fortunate to have chosen Dr Mehat as my cataract surgeon. He has everything that you could wish for in a surgeon - commitment, meticulousness and kindness. He was always available to encourage and advise. I could not have asked for more.

Mr Manjit is a consummate professional and made this whole daunting process as comfortable and as successful as I could ever hoped for. He explained the condition and the remedy with the utmost care and consideration and I was very happy with his entire approach.
