Mr Jason Yap is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist sub-specialising in Gynaecological Oncology and vulval disease based in Birmingham. He is currently based at Pan Birmingham Gynaecological Cancer Centre and sees private patients at The Priory Hospital, The Harborne Hospital and The Vesey Private Hospital.

He completed his medical degree at University College London in 2005, followed by his specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Birmingham which he completed in 2020. During this training, he undertook his subspecialist accreditation in gynaecological oncology, with additional training in benign and pre-cancerous vulval conditions. In the final year of his training, he completed a travelling fellowship awarded by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in vulval reconstruction surgery. Mr Yap also holds a PhD in cancer study.

In his current clinical practice, Mr Yap is the lead clinician for vulval disease and offers specialist treatments for benign, pre-cancerous and cancerous vulval conditions. He also has expertise in cervical cancer, uterine cancer and ovarian cancer, and offers surgical procedures such as abdominal hysterectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy and ovarian cancer surgery, ensuring his patients have a range of treatment options available.

He is also a trained advanced robotic surgeon where he operates on women with benign and cancer patients requiring key-hole surgery.

Alongside his expertise in gynaecological oncology, Mr Yap also has expertise in the management and treatment of other gynaecological conditions including cosmteric surgery for vulva/labia, surgery to treat vulvodynia, myomectomy for the treatment of fibroids, and others.
