“Matina is very good at giving me ways that reframe my thinking to help get me out of my anxiety funks. Additionally she is very compassionate. Sometimes, therapists can be quite dry l and that makes it difficult to be open about the issues we deal with. I find that her compassionate manner makes me feel ok to be open and honest and not feel foolish for feeling the way I do. Overall I am feeling more equipped at handling anxieties“

    About

Dr Matina Sotrilli is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years of experience working in adult mental health, both within the NHS and private organisations in London. She provides psychological therapy and counselling sessions to patients. She is specialised in treating clients with a wide variety of mental health issues and also in eating disorders and the factors that influence peoples’ relationship with food.

Dr Sotrilli uses several treatments with her patients, however, she is a specialist in the application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She believes that peoples' needs are very specific and cannot necessarily be met by one therapeutic model. Her holistic approach along with her experience allows her to choose the best treatment for the patient, in order to maximise their benefit.

Matina is also involved in teaching, currently supervising trainees and qualified psychologists. She is an accredited member of British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and abides by their code of conduct and ethics.

I came to Matina with a host of issues, work being one of them. Prior to seeing Matina I'd seen two therapists, both of whom I felt I genuinely never clicked with. Matina has been absolutely pivotal in my emotional and mental transformation. She is just so empathetic and has that ability to be your friend and therapist at the same time. I wouldn't be where I am without her. She provided me with the tools and advice to help get me out of the rut I'd never thought I'd see myself escaping from.

Matina has helped me so much in gaining my confidence back and start to look and think about situations differently. I am growing in confidence daily. I have found Marina very understanding, non judgemental and has a very good way of making you see things more clearly and rationale. I have used a lot of what we have spoken about in our sessions and put into my daily routine.

Marina is a fantastic therapist. I find myself leaving our sessions so full of positivity and hope. She has a very calm and engaged manner. Her suggestions show she has listened to everyword I have said, so I feel listened to. The environment she creates is safe and comfortable and I always look forward to our sessions.
