Dr Raman is a Consultant Gastroenterologist able to offer a comprehensive Gastroenterology service including consultation, endoscopy and treatment at BMI The Meriden Hospital. He is able to provide both a diagnostic and a therapeutic endoscopy service with the latest state of the art equipment, which is available at the Endoscopy unit at The Meriden Hospital. Endoscopy procedures he performs include:

• Diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI Endoscopy
• Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
• Diagnostic and therapeutic Colonoscopy

Dr Raman is Director of Medical Education at George Eliot Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Hon Assoc. Professor at Warwick Medical School, Clinical Lead for Gastroenterology and Lead Clinician for GI cancer in North Warwickshire.

Dr Raman did his training in general medicine at University Hospital in Coventry and Warwickshire . He then underwent higher specialist training in Gastroenterology and Medicine in Liverpool.

He has been a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the George Eliot Hospital since 2003. He Dr Raman has a major research interest in screening, diagnosis and treatment of GI conditions and has published and presented papers on both sides of the Atlantic. He has special expertise in use of lasers in endoscopic treatment of cancer, which he has set up at the George Eliot Hospital.

He is happy to see referrals in all aspects of liver disease, reflux and dyspepsia, inflammatory bowel disease and irritable bowel syndrome and also suspected upper and lower GI cancer in addition to general medicine.

Outside of work his interests include music, reading, watching cricket and trekking with his wife and daughter .
