Explanation

Dr Khalid helped me to identify and come to terms with several underlying issues mostly related to grief. She gave practical advice and was willing to help me push myself by trying new mechanisms to address the root causes (eg meditation). As an unexpected bonus, she helped me to learn techniques that are suitable for work, increasing my general resilience and day-to-day happiness. I would recommend Dr. Khalid. Thank you.

Explanation

I have seen Dr Sarah Jane Khalid for my depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. During my time seeing her, I have developed so much as a person, and she has helped me do this. Looking back at my diary when I first started seeing her, I can see, and feel, how much more confident and positive I am about life. Most invaluably, she has taught me not to blame myself and share responsibility with others; to not look at things in a black and white manner but to accept the grey areas; little by little, she has helped me breakdown the walls I have created. It is only now, with her help that I am truly realising the importance of taking care of myself and am taking steps to do this. My life and and I are still a work in progress, but the lessons I have taken from my time with Sarah Jane will stay with me forever and help tackle obstacles that come to pass. I will always be grateful for this.

I found Sarah Jane to be kind, compassionate and encouraging. I’ve had an excellent therapy experience and have recommended her to my colleagues at British Land and my friends.

Sarah-Jane supported me through many challenges in my life, from anxiety and depression in a high-pressure environment to coping with grief and the burden of supporting others when you are facing hardship yourself. At the start of our journey I felt uncomfortable in my skin at all times and was generally very hard on myself. I also made self-destructive choices and judged myself very harshly when I did not meet my impossible expectations. Her compassionate and insightful approach helped me observe my behaviour and better understand my emotions. Over time I learned to be kind to myself and make choices that drive this positive change in my life. She later also worked with me through a period of bereavement. I believe that without the foundation we built together over the preceding years, I would not have been able to cope with the grief and challenge of emotionally supporting others in this difficult situation.

Explanation

“Happiness, not in another place but this place… not for another hour, but this hour” (Walt Whitman): I have had sessions with Sarah-Jane for the past two years and I credit her with bringing me back to life. She helped me out of a major depression, and then we figured out my version of a meaningful life, and how to live it. She challenged my ways of thinking: about myself, about others, about the world and my place in it, and she showed me how to retain the parts which worked, and to break free of what didn’t. She made me curious about life again, how to see its full technicolour. It’s hard work, it’s meant to be, and I would not have wanted to do it without her.

I have found these therapy consultations very useful - we worked through the issues I felt and came up with manageable and effective methods to help calm my anxiety and over-thinking. I felt very at ease to talk about my feelings, going forwards I feel I have good methods to help myself. I am not 100% where I want to be but that is only because of time and feel that if I implement what you have given me I will be in a much better place. Thank you.

My therapy experience with Dr Khalid has been a very positive one, given I had a prior negative experience. But with every consultation I felt reassured as she listened, understood and was very compassionate. I’ve made changes that I thought I could never make, it has greatly impacted my quality of life and how I approach things. Thank you for all your support and wisdom.

Explanation

Dr Khalid was able to provide me with excellent support during my time with her. The benefits were great including understanding my issues taking in to account my Pakistani cultural background, my religious beliefs and the society we live in. The approach taken each session helped me reset my mind and re-engage my thought process and making me reassess my core family and life values. I strongly recommend Dr Khalid's support especially if you are from an Asian family background as coming forward, putting your hand up for help and seeking specialist treatment can at times add to your mental well being.
