Dr Lawrence is a perceptive and empathetic practitioner. I would recommend him highly.

Dr Lawrence has a wealth of experience which he uses to explain some ( sometimes ) complex issues. There has never been a time when I felt talked at, or patronised. He is a lovely human being. One of only a few doctors of my experience who genuinely care.

Thankfully, I was strongly recommended to see Dr Lawrence in March 2007, by my then, exceptional psychotherapist. I regard Dr Lawrence, as having saved my life. In the context of my traumatic and damaging experiences with several psychiatrists between 2003 and 2007, both as an inpatient, and an outpatient I was not at all hopeful, when I first went to see Dr Lawrence. I arrived at Dr Lawrence's practice in a black depression and in a cab, not functioning, then, slumped in a corner of his waiting room. On meeting him, Dr Lawrence was immediately tremendously compassionate and caring, as he has always been, consistently. I have remained under his care for 15 years, since 2007, and I regard myself as extremely fortunate to still be under his care, and I mean 'care'. Dr Lawrence is the only psychiatrist who said to me, on first meeting me, 'Tell me what has happened'. He asked me to tell him my story and treatments over the past 4 years, following my severe mental breakdown in 2003. He listened intently. Unlike all other psychiatrists I had met, he allowed proper time for our meeting. After I told him my story, he said that he knew immediately and with certainty, what my condition is, being Bipolar Disorder Type 2, and that he could treat it effectively, with a combination of medications. I was totally alarmed by the diagnosis, but he reassured me that with the medication he would prescribe, I would feel much better within 6 weeks and be able to go back to work in 6 months. I found it extremely hard to believe this, after my less than dismal experiences with other psychiatrists. Dr Lawrence proved to be 100% accurate on his diagnosis, medication and timescales. No other psychiatrist had provided an accurate diagnosis or appropriate medication. Often side effects of the medication prescribed by others, included severe psychosis, including, whilst an inpatient. I have always got along extremely well with Dr Lawrence. He is a genuinely lovely person and in many ways, we are in tune. I have experienced mood swings, intermittently, during the last 15 years, including some severely debilitating Bipolar episodes. These have generally resulted from an extreme situation occurring in my life, often relating to work, or a physical injury. Dr Lawrence has always, without exception, made himself available to work with me to make my way through them and to recover. The episodes have at times been excruciating but I have always come through them. I am very much more balanced now, in particular as I have been working to change my career, to a career that really suits me and that I have begun to enjoy. Dr Lawrence and I have agreed that I will begin to gradually reduce my medication over the next 12-18 months. Ideally, I will ultimately not need to take any medication at all. This would be absolutely wonderful. Without Dr Lawrence, I cannot imagine what my mental health would be like now. If I had had to rely on the types of psychiatrist I consulted between 2003 and 2007, I would not be surprised if I would have been institutionalised for life. Early on, in our relationship, I asked Dr Lawrence which psychiatric hospital he admitted his patients to, if needed. He said 'my patients don't get admitted to psychiatric hospitals'. That sums it up - Dr Lawrence is such an exceptional psychiatrist that he is able to treat his patients effectively, as outpatients, so that they escape what in my experience, were truly awful, inpatient stays. Dr Lawrence is supported by phenomenal staff in his practice, in particular, Lorraine Dickson who has been of huge support to me, whilst liaising with Dr Lawrence on my behalf. Separately, Lorraine has always been incredibly supportive to me and always makes me feel comfortable regarding whatever we need to do. She always does everything that is needed to do and extremely quickly. She is efficient and she is lovely. I highly, highly recommend Dr Lawrence and his practice.

I have been under the care of Dr laurance and the team at 96 harley street for over the last 2 years ,firstly I am extremely grateful for the help from Robin and all of his team who gave me the precious  gift of  hope , they cared for me and played a massive role in keeping me alive and saving my life from a severe and very complicated mental illness.Whithout this help I would not be here today. The care expertise and professionalism has always  been second to none but more importantly the kindness , compassion and  patience has meant allot to me. In this day and age where patients can be sometimes just treated as another number this has never been the case. I wish I came across Dr Lawrence years ago. He has changed my life. He is extremely knowledgeable, non-judgmental, has no ego whatsoever (Which is rare for doctors of his caliber), can truly empathise with me.
