I saw Dr Despott for a endoscopic submucosal dissection. He was highly recommended by the referring doctor. Dr Despott took time to explain the procedure. He was also reassuring but realistic, which made me feel safe in his hands. I am delighted that the procedure was a success and I have had no complications from the procedure. I would certainly recommend Dr Despott to any of my friends or family if they needed to see someone with his specialty.
Thank you! This is very much appreciated.

I'm very happy with Dr. Despott, and I believe he's the finest doctor I've ever encountered. He didn't waste any time and he made sure my health problems were treated as soon as possible. He was always happy to answer any of my questions and he did everything he could to reassure me. Very comunicative and always ready to explain what was going on. I'm also quite surprised by his kindness, which is definitely one of his main attributes. I was quite moved to see how much he cared about me, and that was a very important thing for me as a patient. Not only a great doctor, but also a great human being.
Thank you! This is very much appreciated.

Mr Despott is probably the most hands-on and pro-active consultant I have encountered. He took a personal and compassionate approach to managing my care. He is held in high regard by his colleagues and the profession in general and it is not difficult to see why. I was treated by Mr Despott both as a private patient and via the NHS and all this he organised seamlessly despite the difficulties presented by a global pandemic. The PPU at the Royal Free was closed at the time of my admission so I experienced the hospital as an NHS patient. I found it to be excellent. Mr Despott also practices at the Wellington Hospital which is, in my view, the best private hospital in the UK.
Thank you! This is very much appreciated.

Dr Despott provided excellent care. He is very kind and explains everything. I had a transnasal endoscopy and travelled from the midlands to have this procedure. I would do it again. I found I was able to tolerate this type of endoscopy well. Dr Despott ensured I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Excellent Dr with a high level of expertise. Thank you.
Thank you! This is very much appreciated.

Dr Despott is the most human, dedicated doctor in his field. He performed his pioneering Transnasal Endoscopy on me whereby he was conscious of my fears and made it seem like a breeze. I feel very blessed to have this man in charge of my gastro problems as he is very thorough. I will travel the width and length of this country to have this lovely man as my consultant.

Our son who has Down's Syndrome and associated learning difficulties had a gastroscopy under the care of Dr Despott. We cannot praise the staff enough for their care and attention. The fact everyone spoke directly to my son rather than through me was particularly impressive. Dr Despott explained in simple terms what he planned to do. Overall it was an incredibly positive experience and we are very grateful to all the staff who treated him so well and made him feel so comfortable while in hospital.
Many thanks indeed; much appreciated
