Dr Humphries was really excellent both at the consultation stage and then at the time of carrying out my gastroscopy. He has a caring and attentive bedside manner and explained both the procedure and the results calmly but in detail. It didn’t feel in any way rushed. He communicated well throughout the procedure, including as to how much longer it would take. It’s not a pleasant procedure but it was far better than I feared, even without sedation.

Dr Humphries' informal manner and obvious professional excellence put me at ease immediately. He listened closely, asked interesting and informed questions and was comprehensive in discussing the possible causes of and solutions to the issues I'd come to see him about. He covered a wide field, exploring all possibilities, and was clear and pragmatic throughout. I left feeling that I had had the best possible consultation and advice, and this was borne out by the absolutely outstanding letter which I had from him, copied to my GP, summarising our session and outlining possible ways forward.
