Dr Arun was great, very happy with the whole service. Would use again.

I was worried about weight loss and abdominal pain that I had been experiencing. Mr Shanmuganandan gave me the time to explain my problems in an environment in which I felt listened to. He expertly examined me and talked through all the different investigations that he recommended in detail. I had a CT scan, several blood tests, a gastroscopy and a colonoscopy with him. He made me feel comfortable and provided compassionate care during my consultations and the investigations. He has made several recommendations to me following the investigations. My symptoms have improved and I feel much more at ease now. I highly recommend him.

I was able to arrange a consultation same day. He was friendly, attentive and professional at the initial meeting and very efficient in arranging the follow up scan and colonoscopy to take place the following week. On the admission day he explained what would happen and obtained my consent to undertake any minor procedures there and then should anything be found rather than me have to return a second time. He relayed the results of the colonoscopy and CT scan to me shortly after the procedure and explained possible short term side effects and suggested best practice and then explained further at the follow up meeting prior to discharge. All in all I was very happy with the overall experience.

From the moment I stepped into Mr Shanmuganandan's office, I was met with an extraordinary level of care and professionalism in every aspect of my journey – from the initial colonoscopy to the colorectal surgery and through the post-operative care – Mr Shanmuganandan consistently went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and well-being. There were instances where administrative or hospital errors could have hindered my experience, but Mr Shanmuganandan was always there, like a guardian angel, ensuring that these were swiftly corrected and that the highest standard of service was maintained. His dedication, empathy, and attention to detail made a significant difference in my recovery process.

My husband had a follow up consultation with Arun yesterday. As always, he made him feel at ease with regard to the results of his tests and took the time to listen to all of our concerns. He suggested a plan going forward and his reassuring nature was once again a great support to us both.

A very good consultant who is a patient listener and explained everything which calmed me down after the issues I faced . His suggestions have helped me improve my condition.

Very excellent Dr/Surgeon. I had problems for many years. My problem caused me so many issues. I now no longer have any issues and that part of my life is much better and has helped me lead a better life. Dr Arun Shanmuganandan gave be an outstanding service. The care I received started before my procedure and continued afterwards too. I totally recommend Dr Shanmuganandan as this is for sure a 5 star doctor. I'm very grateful for the successful service I received. And for sure I'm grateful for the human care. It is not often you get extra care from health professionals. And the care offered and given is much appreciated It is so important that we as patients get the best help we can. Our health is so important. We need more than just basic procedure. Arun takes time to listen and to explain. He did a tremendous job with my surgical procedure. I would definitely recommend.

Dr Arun was amazing! I was very nervous about the procedure and he made sure I was given enough sedation so the entire experience was very comfortable. He was kind enough to check-in with me afterwards to make sure that I was ok and not in any pain. He has a wonderful bedside manner and made sure that I fully understood the procedure and what it entails. He is a credit to Shirley Oaks Hospital.
