I have used this practice on a number of occasions. The appointments are usually prompt and more so than others in HCA.

I arrived at 8.15.am for my MRI. The receptionist and Porter were friendly. I was taken to the Basement where no-one was in the reception. At 8.30.am, a lady came out of an office and told us that the MRI m/c was faulty and that there was no way of knowing when it would be repaired. She asked if I could wait for an unspecified time until they might have some news of when it could be repaired. I explained that we could wait until 9.15.am if required but would then need to leave to be sure of making it to our next appointment. She then suggested we make a new appointment. Unfortunately that will be on 26th January at 2.30.pm and I am supposed to be seeing my Specialist on Monday 29th January. There is apparently no guarantee that he will have the results analysed by then. I was told that there is no sooner appointment available. I was not offered any compensation for my wasted journey and parking costs.

I was seen by the front of house staff immediately. I was also seen for my test 10mins before my actual appointment time which reduced my wait and anxiousness greatly. The Echo and ECG techs were professional at all times, they made me felt safe especially as I was feeling faint/dizzy at times during the appointment. Dr. Kalra was superb, he was very professional, spoke clearly and with reassurance in regards to my query and concerns.

Nothing specific to mention but the MRI waiting facilities are very squashed in the basement.

Even with Covid 19 more than two patients should be allowed in the waiting room .As it can accommodate more than too and there is ample social distancing !
