Very friendly and caring Dentist and Reception staff

I went along to Damira dental surgery. Back in the day the dentist always cleaned and polished your teeth, included in your check up However, now days you have to go to see the hygienist the last time I went to the dentist which was six months ago. This cost was £50. However this week I went to the dentist and was about to make an appointment with the hygienist. However the price has risen by 40% to £70. This is outrageous in this time of austerity! I didn’t book up, the nations teeth will suffer now for the sheer greed of companies such as this. Not sure if the reason the NHS dentist is not allowed by the NHS to clean and polish, if it is the dentists price and policy, then it could change by the dentist. However it if it is the NHS policy then this must change by the government. Otherwise, Tamera Dentist is fine

Booked an appointment on the same day to see a dentist for a problem I was having in my teeth - I asked the receptionist who I was seeing as I’m quite scared of dentists they told me I was seeing Dentist Kan , from when I walked in the receptionist helped me settle in she was quite young so I was expecteng her to kind of ignore me , From the moment I stepped into the surgery I could tell all that dentist wanted to do was make money and get me to do the most expensive treatment to my teeth , I felt very pressured and uncomfortable like I didn’t have a say in my own dental treatment , to add to this I went in there for an infection , in pain and discomfort but she was pressuring me to book an implant appointment. Didn’t even try to advise me on my infection like she was in some sort of rush On top of this I could hear her talking about me as I left the room and how I shouldn’t have been booked in and out with her. I’m not really happy with the service especially as I tried to call back to book in an appointment as whatever she did in that appointment didn’t help my infection but possibly made it worse . Everything else was okay , dentists shouldn’t really pressure people to do things they can’t afford to do especially in this crisis.

Have been to friendlier dentists, but we’re all very professional and lovely with my 6 year old. I just miss old fashioned customer service!!
