Dr Ong gave a reassuring approach to my consultation and the following procedure. Detailed explanations meant there were no surprises which I considered very important in the process. My only difficulty in conveying my opinion of Kieran Power is finding the right words to express just how amazing a surgeon he is. This was after two previous reconstruction attempts had left me in a sorry state. I had been told it was in fact a “satisfactory result” because I could hide it in a bra (!) and there was not much else that could be done to help me. I was devastated and disfigured but my sister, a nurse, urged me to get a second opinion. From the moment I first met Kieran, I felt totally safe. He immediately reassured me that he could help me. His gentle manner is incredibly calming and I cannot express how much it meant to be treated with such kindness and respect after my previous experiences. This served to significantly reduce my anxieties from the start (and I had hitherto been treated for PTSD in connection with previous medical related traumatic experiences and my previous unsatisfactory cancer recon surgeries). I knew I was in safe hands and that this was a surgeon I could trust. His integrity and skill are outstanding. My surgery and recovery all went very well and I received wonderful care (Donna, his secretary, is just brilliant!). I have since shared photos of my recon with other breast cancer patients and they always say “wow, I want your surgeon!” I had just about given up even daring to hope that I might ever be able to feel vaguely happy about my body again after cancer but Kieran is a real life genius surgeon - I am eternally grateful to him. This Summer I pranced around in a bikini on the beach actually feeling confident I think!?!

My experience with Mr Khatib has been fantastic. I immediately felt at ease with him and he was so caring and kind throughout the whole process. I was able to ask all the questions I needed to and he answered them thoroughly. I felt safe and confident in going forward with the breast reduction, after more than 30 years of putting it off. The surgery went extremely well and so quickly! I was home the same afternoon which meant I was able to rest and recover properly in my own surroundings which I feel has helped so much for a smooth recovery. If there’s anything I’ve ever wanted to ask, I have been able to call or email without feeling any hesitation to do so and have always been reassured that I can contact him at any time. The results of the surgery are superb! I’m really happy and will be forever grateful! I highly recommend Mr Khatib for his amazing work and for making this such a wonderful and positive experience.
