HCA ancillary staff were excellent and friendly, putting me at ease. The one exception is that despite being fully covered by private medical insurance (incl pre-authorisation codes and competing multiple online forms and confirming details) the HCA administrative/ reception staff on arrival were overly focused on (and their primary priority is to) obtain credit card details and associated authorisation for extra procedures and tests which go beyond the scope of the referral and pre-authorisation in case suggested. The requested authorisation is open-ended and requested at a point when patients are vulnerable. The HCA admin staff were unable to explain why authorisation was required in my circumstances with full insurance coverage - all they could manage was a weak “it’s just our process”.

Day case for Cardio Version following an event that triggered Atrial Fibrillation. From start to finish the staff at The Wellington Hospital could not do enough for both myself and my wife. Hannah Hobbs looked after me on several occasions and did an amazing job sorting me out. As well as clearly technically knowing what to do and how to help me, her enthusiasm and positive attitude is very motivating and encourages one to do the necessary homework to get the results.

Staff were lovely and helpful, and premises were comfortable. Our consultant is wonderful, professional, and thorough. I would certainly return to receive treatment from the medical team. Unfortunately we waited almost 5 hours for an injection of anti-d as I'm rhesus negative, so our discharge was significantly delayed. Staff in the Lindo wing seemed to try quite hard to accelerate the process and chased the transfusion dept several times, but it led to us spending 8 hours in hospital for a 30 minute procedure which was unfortunate.

I found the experience very good indeed.

The operation on my left wrist had to be delayed by a few hours because a previous patient had overrun but the hospital ensured that this was not much of an inconvenience to me. Nursing and care and all staff of a very high standard.
