He is a Clinical Reader in Paediatric Allergy at Imperial College London, Associate Professor of Evidence-based Dermatology at Nottingham University and Consultant Paediatric Allergist at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington where he leads the clinical service for allergen immunotherapy (desensitisation).

He holds a Department of Health national level Clinical Excellence Award, which is only bestowed to the top 10% of UK consultants.

His approach is parent and child centred, allowing parents and children to make decisions with the best possible opinion and options. He provides robust, evidence based developmental diagnosis, which many parents find invaluable in helping to choose intervention and secure support for their children. He has also worked with the Motor Disorder Service at Great Ormond Street Hospital and so has expertise in medical assessment and management of children with cerebral palsy and other motor disorders.

Dr Ko has held numerous offices at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and is currently an Advisor to the Neurodisability Training Committee. He was a ministerial advisor to the Department of Work and Pensions and  has contributed to central government policies for disabled children.
