Who We Work With

We support clients who may be:

- Struggling with an eating disorder or disordered eating

- In active addiction, early recovery, or post-treatment

- Managing emotional distress, trauma, or dysregulation

- Seeking flexible support alongside work, school, or family life

- Parents or carers of young people needing therapeutic support

We also work in partnership with treatment centres, GPs, and schools —
providing online step-down care or bridging support where needed.

Our Approach

TWRC was founded during the COVID-19
pandemic by therapist and clinical director James Hitchen, who saw the
real-world power of online recovery. Having led the development of a successful
online addiction programme for a leading UK provider, he launched TWRC to make
high-quality, accessible mental health care available to more people — wherever
they are.

We work from a structured model of care:

Stabilisation → Maintenance & Growth → Prevention

From day one, we begin building recovery capital — helping clients stabilise,
gain confidence, and develop the tools and insight they need to live more
fully. All our services are trauma-informed, inclusive, and identity-aware.

How to Access Our Services -
We accept self-referrals and professional referrals

- Rolling intake — no need to wait for fixed-term cohorts

- All services are delivered online — accessible from anywhere in the UK or
internationally

The Wellbeing and Recovery Collective provide me with a safe space to openly explore issues blocking my recovery in a group setting. James is very knowledgeable about eating disorders and has helped me understand my condition, the triggers as well as supporting me to work on strategies to stay on track with my recovery. He is a calming and encouraging presence in group. I am extremely grateful for the support I have received. My recovery has improved hugely under his guidance.

This is the first support group ever I joined for eating disorder I did not know if I had a eating disorder but knew I did not have a good relationship with my food and my feelings. James and my fellow group members held space for my feelings that helped me to accept them one of which is grief (a difficult one for me!) this group became the starting point of my recovery and I am very grateful to this group, literature, fellow members..thank you for your support, time and listening ❤️
