Orla is very welcoming, patient & non-judgemental. She made it very easy to open up to her, she is very understanding and gave great support and advice on a range of different topics. I would highly recommend her!

Orla was an incalculably important help to me at a very difficult time. I can’t say enough about how receptive, warm, and encouraging she was — it was my first time using a therapist and she put me entirely at ease. I’d strongly recommend her.

Thank you for your feedback.
I have been attending sessions with Orla for some years now. I have always felt listened to while with her and she has given me plenty of useful tools and techniques to deal with my day to day problems. She often makes me think outside of the box to deal with my problems, and always has an open mind for my thoughts, no matter how small I feel they might be.

My most recent was great. Orla has great knowledge of how to respond to situations and help figure out how to help.

Orla Whelan was recommended to me by my GP in early 2025 as I had been struggling with stress for a number of years and had tried a number of other things which helped temporarily but left me feeling confused. From the outset Orla put me at ease and I felt 'safe' and 'heard' - things I had struggled to achieve with other counsellors / therapists. Building on that first session we developed a good level of trust and respect. This allowed me to open up and start to understand the basis of my anxiety and stress. While it hasn't been easy nor straightforward, Orla has been fantastic - guiding me and challenging me where necessary. Nothing is simple and while there remains a way to go for me, I do feel better than I have for decades. I am grateful to have met Orla and would not hesitate to recommend her psychotherapy services.

I started sessions with Orla nine months ago during a time when I was feeling particularly low and overwhelmed, and I’m so grateful I did. From the very beginning, she created a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where I felt heard and understood. Her approach is both professional and deeply compassionate, and I always left our sessions feeling more grounded and hopeful. She helped me gain clarity on what I was going through and offered practical tools that I could apply in my day to day life. Over time, I noticed a real shift in how I approached my thoughts and emotions. Her guidance helped me build resilience and start feeling more like myself again. I truly appreciate the care, insight, and support she provided. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a thoughtful and skilled therapist.

My sessions with Orla have always been supportive, challenging, kind and insightful. Every time I come away feeling like I’ve created more scaffolding from which I can help myself to rebuild this old home into something new and exciting. Orla has helped me to become secure, once again, in my very foundations.

Orla is a calming presence and probably the best listener I’ve ever encountered. She engages and speaks just enough, and thoughtfully enough, that you know she is listening, without ever spilling over in to thinking it’s just a chat.

Thank you for taking the time to give such a thoughtful review.
I find Orla gives me the space to reflect on my thoughts and feelings, creating a supportive and understanding environment.

I've been working with Orla for a while now and she's been incredibly helpful. I always feel at ease talking with her, and she often points out things I completely miss about myself and my situations. She's helped me understand myself so much better and has been there for me through some really difficult periods. I'm grateful to have found such a skilled therapist and would recommend her to anyone.

I know Orla for many years now. We tarined together as therapists in Dublin but the fact taht we are still participating in psychoanalytic events says a lot about her dedication and high professionalism. Orla is an excellent psychotherapist who is trained in Ireland but is still open to learn from our collagues abroad. She regularly attends seminars and is very professional.
