About Ms Nadezhda Almqvist

Nadezhda Almqvist is a highly qualified psychotherapist with a rich academic and practical background in psychoanalysis. She holds an MPhil in Psychoanalytic Studies from Trinity College Dublin and an MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Independent Colleges Dublin, where she graduated with first-class honours and received the President’s Award for her outstanding academic achievements.

Nadezhda is a Practising Analyst, recognised by Espace Analytique in Paris, and is fully accredited with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) and the Association for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in Ireland (APPI). She is also a Registered Practitioner and offers therapy in both English and Bulgarian.

Her psychoanalytic training is deeply rooted in the psychoanalytic tradition, which involves years of personal analysis, regular supervision, and ongoing education. Psychoanalysis is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Nadezhda carefully listens to her patients' unique stories and helps them find their own words to describe their experiences. This approach allows patients to explore and address long-standing issues such as anxiety, panic attacks, depression, eating disorders, and more. While psychoanalysis can take time, the changes it brings are profound and lasting.

Nadezhda is also a published co-editor and has presented papers at various international congresses, making significant contributions to the field of psychoanalysis.

I spent a little over a year doing weekly therapy sessions with Nadezhda. I chose to go for psychoanalysis because I was keen to understand my thoughts and behaviors, and to become aware of what is at play in them. My sessions consisted in a lot of talking and a lot of reflecting. Sometimes I would go to my appointment thinking I didn’t have anything to discuss, but Nadezhda always pointed me to the right direction. I always found her interventions during the session very helpful because they would encourage me to think about things differently, to see things from another angle. Overall my year in therapy has been a great experience. I always looked forward to my weekly session. I made enormous progress in terms of knowing myself and of handling situations. If you are looking to do a deep analysis of yourself and to get to the roots of your thoughts and behaviors, this is for you - I can’t recommend this more.

Exceptional Professionalism and Life-Changing Results with Nadia. I've been seeing Nadia for few years now doing psychoanalytic therapy, and her professionalism and expertise have been incredible, and Nadia seem to do it with Passion. Unlike traditional therapies that focus on short-term fixes, Nadia's psychoanalytic approach dives deep into the subconscious to address the root of issues. While the process is sometimes painful, takes time, it has brought me profound emotional clarity and lasting change. Nadia creates a safe, non judgmental space where I feel truly heard. Her thoughtful guidance has helped me understand myself on a deeper level, resulting in tangible improvements in my life. If you're seeking real, long-term transformation I would highly recommend Nadia by her competence and dedication.
