Prof. Nicola Ralph

Professor Nicola Ralph is a Consultant Dermatologist on the Specialist Register for Dermatology in Ireland. Professor Ralph is an honours graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Professor Ralph commenced training in Dermatology at the Mater Misericordiae University hospital where she developed a keen interest in photodermatology. This led to Professor Ralph undertaking an MD, as principal investigator of a large European Multicentre study on photopatch testing. Professor Ralph was appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist at the Mater Misericordiae University hospital. Professor Ralph is a Clinical Assistant Professor at University College Dublin.

Professor Ralph has an interest in inflammatory dermatology, photodermatology, and skin cancer, including dermatological surgery. Professor Ralph ran the National Photobiology Unit at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, the only unit in the country that can perform phototesting on patients with potential Ultraviolet-related dermatoses. Professor Ralph has published book chapters on photodermatology and numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals.
