Dr. Muhammad Umar is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with a specialist interest in urogynaecology. He graduated from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan in 1993 and subsequently moved to the UK, where he completed his membership examinations at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London. He is also a proud member of the European Urogynaecological Association (EUGA).
In 1996, Dr. Umar relocated to Ireland, where he undertook his specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology at major hospitals across the country, including the Mid-Western Regional Maternity Hospital and Barringtons Hospital in Limerick. He was awarded his specialist title in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2010.
Throughout his career, Dr. Umar has been actively involved in medical education, teaching students from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and University College Cork. He has contributed to numerous publications, research projects, and presentations. He is also a member of the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP).

I have been a patient of Dr Umar’s since 2019. He is extremely knowledgeable in fertility & pregnancy & all areas of his field. I have had 4 children under Dr umar’s care and for several different gynaecological issues, and throughout those experiences I found him to be thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Dr Umar is a fantastic consultant and is always available to answer or guide you through any concerns you may have.
My experience was very good. His manner is lovely and he explains things very well. However, he didn’t know I had had my MRI scan and only read the letter adjoining the images. I would have liked further explanation. He said my endometriosis is gone for now, but my understanding is that endometriosis can cause lesions and organs to stick together and I suppose I would have liked further reassurance as to how he knew this.
