Dr Michel de Wildt

In 2023 I had a REZUM prostate procedure which was not successful. In 2025 I done some research and following a scan of my prostate I was referred to Dr. de Wildt. Dr. de Wildt explained the options based on my symptoms and the size of the prostate. He explained the HoLep procedure and how the obstructing prostate tissue is removed from the prostate, in a way which enables more accurate diagnose of prostate conditions, than other procedures. This was important to me. Following the procedure, and after a few weeks’ recovery, my quality of life has improved immensely. I am very grateful to Dr. de Wild and the excellent team supporting him for this excellent outcome. I would also like to commend him for his professional manner and excellent communication and after care. He was contactable directly by email and any questions or concerns I had, were responded to very quickly. I highly recommend Dr.de Wildt.

After some deliberation of the different treatments on offer, th HOLEP procedure was settled on. Mr.de Wildt is "laser focused" on successful outcomes. He is the - 'to go to' - sole specialist. One does not need to look elsewhere. 'Bedside manner' is impeccable too!! PSA . Problem: Prostate enlargement. Solution: Suitable surgery. Action: Mr.Michel de Wildt at the Beacon Hospital.

I was taking medication for my prostate but it was not working very well in the end so I was recommended to talk to Michel about the HOLEP procedure. He explained the process in detail , pros and cons etc... and from my own investigation, it seemed like the answer to my problem. The process was very straight forward, admission for an overnight stay and Michel worked his magic. My recovery was fast and problem free and after four weeks I was nearly 100%. I am very happy with how the procedure has gone for me and based on my own experience I would certainly recommend it, especially if Michel is performing it. Many thanks Michel.

Overall experience was very positive. Dr de Wildt attended to be very well, including pre-op and post-op. He was very accommodating when I switch over from another consultant and explained everything to me in a clear and easy to understand way, including the risks and impacts of the procedure. The Operation itself went off without hitch, with the only challenge being to get the bladder working again after the anaesthetic etc. Glad to get home after 1 night in hospital.

I first met with Dr. Michel de Wildt in late 2025. I had already been suffering from an enlarged prostate for over a decade at this stage, with disimproving quality of life due to nocturia. I had been offered a TURP procedure in early December 2025 in a public hospital, after many invasive procedures over the years, but had been warned that I would also require a second TURP procedure due to the size of the prostate. I was initially disappointed when the hospital cancelled the operation at the last minute, but it motivated me to seek out the superior HoLEP procedure for which I was prepared to travel to the UK. I was delighted to discover that Dr. Michel de Wildt was its sole practitioner at the Beacon Hospital and I secured an initial consultation with him at the end of December 2025 with a view to be put on a waiting list for September 2026. I jumped at an offer of an earlier procedure mid April 2026 due to a cancellation. My HoLEP operation went very smoothly. I had a brief fortnight of minor discomfort, but have since gone from strength to strength, as was confirmed by yesterday's review appointment (17 September 2026) and uroflow and PSA test . Michel presents his professional manner with humour, warmth and encouragement. We joked that we hope not to see each other again,secure in the knowledge that I am always welcome to contact him. I went to see Michel as I was having BPH issues, he explained the procedure in full, it's a less evasive surgery than other prostrate surgical procedures with a shorter healing time. I'm six weeks post op and doing really well I feel like a new man. I want to say to any other man who may be experiencing prostrate issues to see Michel, he is a highly experienced top class urologist who is a credit to the profession. Once again I can't thank Michel enough for his outstanding care and professionalism before and post surgery.
