Dr Michel de Wildt

I am very happy with the HOLEP treatment I had from Mr de Wildt. From my initial assessment, through the treatment procedure and aftercare, everything proceeded in a most caring and professional manner. My experience of the HOLEP procedure carried out by Dr Michel de Wildt at the Beacon Hospital was 100% successful. I would not hesitate to recommend both the beacon and Dr de Wildt to family and friends. I followed the advice given at the pre op consultations and had minimal issues post surgery. I am now 4,5 months post surgery and my urinary symptoms have improved to the point that I don't think about them at all.

1. HoLEP method gave complete satisfaction. Catheter was out next day, sent home next day, haematuria gone by day 3. Urine flowed out in 10 seconds, with no straining or urodyria. Slight urine leakage (10-20ml / day, lasted for circa 3 months. No leakage after that. 2. Dorsal preputial slit healed rapidly, without trouble. Glans can be extruded fully now

I had my first consultation with Dr.de Wildt just over 2 years ago and my first impression was very positive and I had my mind made up before I left his office that day that I was going ahead with the HoLep procedure.A few weeks later the quality of my life was totally transformed.I got excellent care from admission to discharge which in total was 48 hours.Michels explanation of procedure and his bedside manner was second to none.My recovery went totally as planned.I had a six month review over the phone and that was it,no need for a return trip to Dublin from the west of Ireland.My trips to the toilet now are same as they were 30 years ago (I'm 71 now). There isn't a week goes by that I don't think of Dr.Michel and how he has changed the quality of my day to day life.I am 100% recommending this Dr.and procedure to anyone that is suffering with an enlarged prostate. Keep up the good work Dr.Michel.

I found Dr de Wildt after being told about the HOLEP procedure by another Urologist who advised that HOLEP was the gold standard procedure to treat BPH in the UK. I understand that Dr de Wildt is the only Urologist in Ireland currently doing this procedure and I would have no reservations recommending him or the Beacon Hospital.

The overall experience, from start to finish gave me confidence that Mr De Wildt was putting me, the patient, first. He outlined the procedure clearly and answered all of my questions. He provided the same reassurance on the day of the procedure and was in to assess my convalescence early the next morning which I was very pleased to see him and receive a report on how the procedure went, and I was able to leave hospital later that day.
