Dr Michel de Wilde was very helpful and precise in his explanation of the procedure and took a genuine interest in my well being. I would highly recommend him to anyone who might be in need of the Holep procedure. An absolute gentleman.
Friendly and welcoming from reception to conclusion . Mr de Wildt explained my symptoms to me, assured me that holep was my best option and was on site post procedure and for two follow ups.
Michel de Wildt was unfailingly attentive and professional at all times . In advance of my surgery , he explained what was involved and why the procedure was required. After my operation, Michel de Wildt was on hand to answer all my queries ;follow up appointments were scheduled and I found these reassuring and helpful. I am delighted to say I have fully recovered from my urology issues. This is entirely due to the attention and professionalism of Dr.Michel de Wildt .
Dr Dr wildt was very professional explained the procedure very clearly my prostate is in excellent shape a five star experience
I would recommend Dr Michel de Wildt with outstanding expertise in HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate). His clinical approach combines deep technical mastery with a calm, reassuring manner that immediately puts patients at ease. Dr de Wildt is highly skilled in performing HoLEP, a minimally invasive and highly effective procedure for treating benign prostatic enlargement. He explains the process clearly, outlines realistic expectations, and ensures that every decision is made collaboratively. His precision in surgery, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety are evident throughout the entire experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr de Wildt to anyone with prostate issues to consider HoLEP in addition to the more common TURP. Dr de Wildt combination of skill, integrity, and patient‑focused care makes him an outstanding clinician.
Having experienced an AUR (Acute Urinary Retention) last January, I was fitted with an indwelling catheter by my GP. It was a necessary measure, but I was miserable. I had BPH, a common condition for men of my age, and my prostate was very large (more than 100g). The standard surgical treatment, known as TURP, was not an option. I was referred by another consultant urologist, to Dr de Wildt. At present, he is the only urologist in Ireland who is available to carry out the Holep procedure. I was given an appointment many months away, but then received an earlier offer. To any other guy suffering from urinary obstruction, with a very large prostate, I strongly recommend this procedure, and the brilliant urologist who has restored my health and freedom. My healing has progressed well, and I have a urinary flow similar to a young man. I have not experienced incontinence post-operation, thanks to the skill of Dr de Wildt. I am very grateful to Dr de Wildt and all the other healthcare professionals at the Beacon hospital.
I jhad HoLEP surgery in mid March and was back with Mr De Wildt last week for my 4 month follow up. Im delighted to say that the surgery was a success. My blood test last week showed my PSA is now down to 0.6 compared to between 6 and 8 in the year prior to surgery Before the surgery I had to use a catheter for 4 months (after an episode of acute urinary retention in December). I'm now catheter free, the urgency which I experienced in the first two months post HoLEP has disappeared and I am back running 50 km per week. And an added benefit - I'm able to enjoy a few beers again without worrying that it could result in a trip to A and E. The surgery iteslf was pain free, quick ( I was operated on at 10 am and went home at 2 pm the following day) and Mr De Wildt was thoroughly professional throughout the entire process from first meeting him in February to our final appointment last week. I had researched HoLEP prior to surgery and I'm very happy with my decision and I would recommend Mr De Wildt to anyone thinking of surgery from an enlarged prostate.
I am now six months post op from my HOLEP procedure with Dr de Wildt and it has been a great success and has relieved all my previous symptoms of BPH . I had all the symptoms of BPH for almost 10 years including a constant urgency to urinate , poor flow and never fulling emptying my bladder . I had to frequently self catheterise which lead to a few episodes with a uti . My quality of life was really negatively affected . This all changed when I met with Dr De Wildt . He explained the HOLEP procedure in great detail and I did not hesitate when he told me I was a suitable candidate ! Dr de Wildt was really professional and reassuring to me at every stage . I would encourage anyone with symptoms of BPH to have the HOLEP procedure . It has certainly restored my quality of life and given me a new found confidence .
Having had consultations with Dr. Michel de Wildt prior to my surgery I felt very confident about going ahead with my procedure . My operation was very successful and I would highly recommend Dr de Wildt to anyone that requires a holep operation . Thank you Dr Michel de Wildt for looking after me so well.
