I appreciate the time the doctor took with me, but overall I left the appointment feeling unsupported and unsure of the treatment plan. When I explained that I was struggling with side effects from my medication, I didn’t feel I was given clear guidance or a confident plan forward. Instead of being offered medical direction, I was asked what I wanted to do, which made me feel like the responsibility for decisions was being put back on me. For something as serious as medication management, I was expecting clearer clinical advice. Important alternatives such as Concerta were not mentioned during the review at all, and it was only afterwards — when I spoke with my GP and therapist — that I realised this should have been part of the discussion. They were surprised it wasn’t brought up. The combination of limited support, lack of clear communication, and needing to follow up repeatedly for prescriptions made the process stressful. It made me hesitant about continuing treatment, even though I genuinely want help. I hope the feedback is taken constructively, because patients really do rely on doctors to provide guidance, reassurance, and proactive care — especially when they are already feeling vulnerable.
