About Dr. Mary McCaffrey
Dr Mary McCaffrey is an experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience. She graduated from University College, Cork with her medical degree in 1984 and in 1998, she assumed the role of Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at Kerry General Hospital, subsequently establishing The Scotia Clinic (formerly Scotia Women’s Clinic) in 2002, where she serves as Medical Director.
Before establishing The Scotia Clinic, Dr McCaffrey held positions as Assistant Master at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin, and Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. During her time at the Rotunda Hospital, she made significant contributions to the IVF Unit and Sexual Assault Treatment Unit.
In the early 90s, Dr McCaffrey made strides in women's healthcare at Northwick Park Hospital, London, spearheading the initiation of a medical service for women affected by Female Genital Mutilation.
Dr McCaffrey's leadership extended to her role as President of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association until 2007, further highlighting her commitment to advancing healthcare standards. Her clinical expertise focuses on menopause, fertility, and pelvic pain.

Attitude from gynaecologist very very poor, passed judgment and attempted to pry into reasoning for my fear of needles multiple times. Then suggested therapy unasked for and overall very patronising behaviour throughout the exam. Final result of exam was not explained at all. Very negative experience overall.
Extremely efficient and knowledgeable and open and upfront. I understand everything and appointments are quick and efficient. Very helpful .
