Ms Laura McClean is a Person-Centred and Humanistic Counsellor who offers a warm, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and life challenges at their own pace. She believes that, at times, we simply need to pause, breathe, and give ourselves permission to reflect on what comes next. Her approach is rooted in respect for each individual’s unique journey, recognising that counselling is not a one-size-fits-all process.
Working integratively, Ms McClean collaborates closely with her clients to explore therapeutic approaches that best suit their needs. She has a particular interest in bereavement and grief, supporting individuals through loss with compassion and understanding. Over the course of her practice, she has worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression (including postnatal depression), life transitions, coercive and unhealthy relationships, and experiences of grief and loss.
In recent years, she has developed experience working with young women aged 18–25, supporting them with challenges such as low self-esteem and negative self-image. Her aim is to help clients build self-awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of self-worth.
Ms McClean has been in practice for five years. She completed her degree in Integrative Counselling with the Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences (IICP) in 2020 and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling in 2023. Her work is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a genuine belief in each client’s capacity for growth and change.

Laura’s professional support was invaluable to me when I was considering a career opportunity. I was at a crossroads and Laura helped me to work through the many challenges I felt this opportunity presented for me and ultimately provided a space that enabled me to make the decision that was right for me. I found Laura to be very easy to talk with and the tools she gave me will serve me not only in my career but also in my daily life.
Laura provided a kind, safe and non judgmental space for me to open up about the difficulties I was going through. I felt really listened to for the first time. I would definitely recommend her as a therapist
Laura's compassionate and understanding nature always helps me feel comfortable and at ease during sessions. I always leave feeling really heard and understood.
Laura made me feel welcome, as always, creating a safe and warm enviornment to help me open up.
I have attended Laura's practice for the past year . I was navigating some challenging family and personal issues which I am now thanks to Laura's empathic and wise guidance managing much more steadily. I highly recommend Laura she is welcoming and kind and gives gentle suggestions, feedback and sometimes tips but most of all a safe space to explore where I was with it all .
Really enjoy my session with Laura. She’s really good at getting me to open up and dig deeper with situations to get to the root of things.
Laura created a really safe, caring space where I found myself opening up in a way I hadn’t before. She has a warm, caring presence and I felt genuinely listened to. After our appointments, I always left feeling like Im more grounded in myself. My appointments with Laura have been hugely beneficial and I’d have no hesitation in recommending her.
I had a really positive experience with Laura. She helped me through a difficult time of grief and loss with genuine empathy. From the very first session she gave me the space just to be myself and figure out what was going on for me. She has a warm, calm way about her which made me feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend her and I feel confident that I could return to her in the future if I ever needed to
Laura has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience which contribute to her ability to communicate with huge empathy and understanding.
