Dr. David McGrane

Dr David McGrane is a highly experienced Consultant Endocrinologist with additional specialist expertise in internal medicine and diabetes, alongside a strong focus on medical weight management. He has over 15 years of experience as a consultant working with people trying to lose weight, and is on the Irish Medical Council Specialty Register.

He graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1998 with an MB ChB and also holds a First Class Honours BSc in Pharmacology. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MRCP), reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of medical practice. Alongside his clinical work, Dr McGrane is actively involved in medical education, delivering lectures to students at both the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University.

Currently practising at The Weight Loss Medics, Dr McGrane specialises in evidence based weight loss treatments, including injectable therapies such as Mounjaro and Wegovy. He understands the challenges and opportunities in using the best evidence based medical therapies to support people on their weight loss journey.

He works within a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical psychologists, dietitians and personal trainers, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive approach to care. Known for his balanced and unbiased guidance, Dr McGrane prioritises person centred care, helping patients achieve safe, sustainable and effective weight loss outcomes.
