Mr. Ben Husien is a consultant Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon, who completed surgical training in Neurosurgery and spinal surgery at the College of Medicine of South Africa and Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He subsequent completed two advanced spinal fellowships: the first one is the AO spinal combined Neurosurgical and Orthopaedic complex fellowship training in spine deformity, spine trauma and revision spinal surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital, South Africa. The second Neurosurgical spinal fellowship was in Beaumont Hospital, Royal College of Surgeons training in spinal cord tumour, nerve sheath tumours, spinal metastasis, minimally invasive spinal surgery and degenerative spine surgery. He is currently working as a Neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon consultant at Beaumont hospital, Dublin, Ireland
He is Honorary Clinical Senior lecturer at the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. He was awarded two master’s degrees: MMed Neurosurgery and MSc in clinical Neuroscience (Distinction). He has completed multiple international and national presentations, written book chapters, published articles in peer reviewed journals and peer reviewer for many spinal Journals.

I had a robotic Tlif cage fusion surgery on L4/5 . I'd experienced pain down my leg behind my knee. I'm 74 women, slim build. This went well and Mr Ben Husien was very professional and kind. I was 3 days in hospital. My pain level was manageable with 2 days on a drip and afterwards on tablets. I was up walking to the bathroom and sent home 3 days. Post op rest and moving with help at home was good. 6 weeks later I was back at Hermitage for an xray and all well. Walking, exercise, rest, eating well, going to physiotherapy so I found it all within my capacity to manage the pain level but have tremendous help from my spouse. I'd very much recommend Mr Ben Husien a wonderful surgeon and kind man. July 2026.
I found it to be very helpful. Everything was explained clearly to me prior to op. I found the nurses to be brilliant. The domestic staff were very nice and anything you need was not a problem to them
I found Mr Husien took time to clearly explain my issue and outline the options available to me. All alternate paths were pursued before I finally underwent surgery.
I saw Mr Husein concerning a long standing back problem. He explained to me exactly what he wanted to do and asked if I wished To go ahead. I found him to be very friendly and easy to talk to. I went ahead and had the operation which was a complete success. He discharged me 2 days ago. He is an excellent Doctor and I certainly recommend him.
Successful surgery, post-op advice, bedside manner, explained everything thoroughly. A gentleman and great doctor. The administration and receptionists very pleasant and helpful.
I found Mr Husien to be very professional and he explained everything about my procedure in lay man's terms so that I understood what was going on. He has a lovely manner about him and I felt I was in good hands for my ACDF procedure. I would have no problems recommending Mr Husien to anyone who was in need of a neurosurgeon. He was very attentive at all times.
