Mr Adnan Hafeez

Mr Adnan Hafeez is a Consultant Surgeon at Beacon Hospital, where he has practised since 2008. He completed his surgical training in Ireland following graduation, developing a specialist interest in general, robotic, open and laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery, as well as both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including direct access services. He trained in busy tertiary centres and previously worked as a Consultant Surgeon at St James’s Hospital.

Mr Hafeez has a strong focus on patient safety and quality improvement. He is the Clinical Lead for Sepsis Management at Beacon Hospital and serves as Clinical Head of Quality Assurance and Advisor to the Patient Safety, Quality and Innovation (PSQI) Department. He also oversees patient clinical complaints and is a member of the Clinical Risk Committee and Clinical Board at Beacon Hospital.

Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Hafeez is actively involved in medical education. He teaches medical students regularly and holds an adjunct appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor at the UCD School of Medicine.

His surgical practice includes colorectal surgery as well as a broad range of general surgical procedures. He provides both day-case and inpatient services for laparoscopic hernia repairs (including inguinal, incisional and umbilical hernias), gallbladder surgery and perianal conditions. He runs busy endoscopy lists, offering comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as colonoscopy, gastroscopy (OGD), polyp removal, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and dilatation. He works closely with medical and radiation oncology teams to provide coordinated, multidisciplinary care.
