Maxwell Physiotherapy was established in December 2017 in Galway city and is now based at Salthill Devon Soccer Club in Drom East, Salthill.
Maxwell Physiotherapy provides expert, evidence‑based care for individuals of all ages across Galway. With over 15 years of combined clinical experience including Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation, and Paediatrics, our clinic is committed to helping people move better, recover fully, and build long‑term resilience. We offer a modern, hands‑on approach to injury management, rehabilitation, and performance development. Our team blends clinical physiotherapy with strength‑based rehabilitation to ensure every patient receives a clear plan, structured progression, and the support needed to return not only pain‑free, but stronger and more confident.

My experience at Maxwell Physiotherapy was very good. I had an injury on my thumb, I was well looked after, and then was given some exercise on how to help my thumb get better. What I really appreciate was the time the doctor took to listen to me , then examine my thumb before starting the therapy. He also clearly explained what is going on with my thumb. I left his office relieved, I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a Physiotherapy.
Rob is a good physio, really informative, and explained a lot about what I was feeling, and why. He put me at ease. Always good to have a physio who has played some form of sport themselves, they get the frustrations, the thought process and what's going on. Would definitely go back to Rob.
100% positive experience. Loved being able to book in online. I often don’t remember these things until it’s 10pm at night and clinics are closed! I was accommodated with an appointment really quickly. The clinic is based at Salthill Devon football club in Drum, very near town and loads of parking which is ideal.

I recently went to Rob for a knee injury, I compete in a full contact intense sport and Rob has managed to work with me, my body and my sport every single injury. I left the appointment with much more confidence in my knee and a lot less pain, he was able to thoroughly assess it and take my sport into account, Rob also gave me a rehab plan that works with my current training, lightening my physical and mental load

An amazing physio! Would (and have) recommended him to everyone and anyone! As someone with somewhat complex issues he was great at assessing and reassessing the issues and problem solving when others couldn’t. I could not rate Mr Maxwell highly enough, he has brought me back to being able to work again and train without pain
