Dr Alshareef obtained his primary medical qualification, a Bachelor's Degree in Medicine and Surgery, from King Abdulaziz University. He then completed extensive postgraduate training in Canada, which included an ophthalmology residency at McGill University Health Centre and a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Calgary. Dr Alshareef is a holder of the Canadian Board of Ophthalmology and has a Canadian Fellowship in Diseases and Surgery of the Vitreous and Retina.
